PERRY, NY -- The 2006 season has finally arrived at the Wyoming County International Speedway as the asphalt bullring in Perry, NY began its third season of Sunday afternoon racing. Spotty showers in the area held up the special MotherTMs Day show as rain caused a 40-minute delay between the heats and features.

Michael Scores dominates again at Buffalo
Michael Scores, a 5-year-old Held For Ransom gelding, went wire-to-wire in 1:553 and won a $9,000 pace for owner Sandra L. Compton of East Bethany, NY on Saturday night at Buffalo Raceway. Her husband, Jim Compton trains the victor, who paid $3.30 after having gone off as the betting favorite.

First Black Rock feature victory of 2006 goes to Johnson
DUNDEE, NY -- The Black Rock Speedway awoke Friday to rainy conditions with a slight chance of racing later in the evening, but as the skies cleared it left perfect track conditions to kick off the first racing of the season on the 4/10-mile. While a dozen cars were on hand to test for the Saturday night action, 44 cars ran their first feature races of the season.
