A Wyoming County school-bus driver has been arrested on charges of sexually abusing a child younger than 11.

Alan Hamann, 64, of Gainesville, was charge with first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. Hamann was employed at the time of the alleged incident by First Student Bus Co. of Attica as a driver for the Warsaw Central School District.

Applications are now being accepted by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) for approximately $900,000 to support urban forestry projects across the state, Commissioner Pete Grannis announced today. DEC is seeking proposals for Urban and Community Forestry projects that will enhance New York's urban landscapes with healthy trees and provide environmental, health, and economic benefits.

New York State police arrested a Batavia man on Tuesday, charging him with forcibly raping a 4-year-old girl.

Richard J. Peters II, 18, is being held in the Wyoming County jail on charges of rape, sexual abuse, criminal sexual act and endangering the welfare of a child.
