Tuesdays through July 15th - Positive Parenting Series " 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Genesee County, 420 East Main St., Batavia. Nutrition and Parenting Educator Mariellen Woodward-DeFelice will teach the following classes: Anger in the Family, Responsibility and Your Children, Disciplining Your Children, Setting Limits and Expectations, Winning Ways to Talk with Kids, and Family Enrichment. The series is offered at no cost to Genesee county residents and at a nominal fee for residents of surrounding counties. The next series will begin July 29th. Fridays through October 31st from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. - Extension Educators at the FarmersTM Market. Extension educators will be at the market Fridays throughout the summer and fall to offer hands on activities, food samples, soil testing and to answer any of your gardening, agriculture, 4-H and Youth Development or Nutrition questions. July 14th to 19th " Genesee County Fair. The Fair is an annual celebration for Genesee County youth to showcase 4-H Projects that they have completed through their involvement in the 4-H -Youth Development Program. Many projects have been completed in the areas of Animal Science, Consumer and Family Sciences, Youth Gardening and Horticulture and other topic areas. This yearTMs 4-H theme is: “Better Your World: 4-H Making Healthy Choices!” CCE headquarters at the fair are within the Kennedy Building and you are encourage you to stop by and learn more about 4-H in Genesee County. August 21st to September 1st - New York State Fair. 4-H Youth Development involvement at the State Fair provides opportunities to recognize accomplishments of 4-H members, to showcase a wide variety of 4-H projects to the public, and to promote public awareness of 4-H. Genesee County 4-H Youth, Educators and volunteers will be handling Booth #18 (during the 3rd rotation) from Friday August 29th thru Monday September 1st.
