Rain or shine. Avon Driving Park, 350 Park Avenue, Avon. Several mini concerts by regional bands that feature the accordion, as well as a “round the world” presentation of accordion and concertina music from Italian, Irish, Polish, Eastern European, and Old Time traditions. New this year will be some “open mike” sessions, for anyone who has a squeezebox and wants to share some tunes. Look for displays of historical accordions and resources for accordion repairs and maintenance—your questions are welcome. The Driving Park also offers ample space for informal jam sessions under the trees. Refreshments available. Bring your lawn chairs. Support from the Folk Arts Program of the New York State Council on the Arts enables us to present the festival. Free/open to the public.
