I do support wind power, however I voted "depends" because I do not live in the GLOW region. I wish you the best of luck obtaining results that are indicative of your local residents opinion, and not skewed by those outside your region. Please feel free to remove my vote if it will help the accuracy of your results. www.yeswindcohocton.com

With all respect, Best of luck? Why would you wish us luck? As I read from your tag line, Cohocton is torn down the middle with the same fight as the other GLOW regions. If you wish to have readers conned into visiting your website may I also suggest they visit.

Current law could allow New York Regional Interconnect and other private companies to use eminent domain to acquire private property

Cohocton Wind Watch is a community citizen organization dedicated to preserve the public safety, property values, economic viability, environmental integrity and quality of life in Cohocton, NY and in surrounding townships. Neighbors committed to public service in order to achieve a reasonable vision for a Finger Lakes region worthy of future generations.

Visit http://cohoctonwindwatch.org for the information and facts that prove that Western New York State has become the testing grounds for political corruption and greed.

Take back your local government and elect officials that will send the wind turbine carpetbaggers packing. Reform Cohocton http://reformcohocton.org is an example on how to organize to win elections.

Gas will be more than $3.00 a gallon very soon...

Natural resources such as oil and coal are quickly disappearing…

Even if global warming was not an issue, wind power is a reliable energy source which won't run out any time soon.

While the developers continue to tout possibilities, actual studies in Germany and Denmark show no appreciable difference in CO2 output after wind energy is installed. I'd love the things if they worked - I'm a strong environmentalist. But the only aspect of turbines that seems to have a real impact is money.

It is one of the few (readily available) renewable energy sources for the people in the region. I believe the technology will continue to improve and the "eyesore" will be no different than the big bridges, buildings and radio towers that we have come to accept.

I agree, there is much visual polution- everywhere.
Have you ever wondered how much that person with the 30 radio tower recieves in "payment"? No big deal right, it's his land, it rarely affects your property value and your haven is still pretty much intact. If you live ten feet from his or her property line, not a big deal.
Now imagine a 400 foot, JET ENGINE turbine on a stick , with a rotor and blades spinning every single day.How fast would you try to get out of dodge? Don't be misled by the same tired lines these salesmen spin. Do you know or care where these global corporations hail from? Let's remember, they are not OIL COMPANIES anymore, they are Energy companies here to help us survive and prosper. any idea who is backing them, who the stock holders are? how about who manufactures the components? Ever think about the amount of fuel used to get these behemoths across the oceans, and just imagine the massive energy ( gas, diesel, man power, to transport, install, and let's not forget the destruction and polution of our precious landscapes. And this is all for less than 1% in energy "savings".Isn't the government dictating more and more emission controls on our cars every year anyway? I could go on for hours. It's a scam, a huge fleecing of America
