Cornell Cooperative Extension is a community-based, not-for-profit educational organization created by New York State as a subordinate form of government. An elected, volunteer board of directors governs the organization and helps to identify local needs, prioritizes educational programs, and works with Extension's educational staff to ensure program effectiveness. The Cornell Cooperative Extension educational system enables people to improve their lives and communities through partnerships that put experience and research knowledge to work. The mission is shared with Extension associations that are in every county across New York State.
